In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds...and remembers.

Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak. From acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro.

I've enjoyed Nancy Holder' writing since I first discovered her through her Buffy novelizations, so I was quite excited to find out she was the author behind the Crimson Peak novelization.  Having seen the film itself prior to picking up the novelization I already knew where the story was heading; however, Holder has brought a good amount of inner monologue and scenes which weren't in the theater release, and made this story all the more wonderful.

Definitely a movie novelization I enjoyed equally as well as del Toro's visually stunning film.
